Compute capacity is only useful when power delivery, cooling, and systems integration can support it.
What this layer does
A data center becomes useful AI infrastructure only when electricity, substations, transmission, cooling, water strategy, buildings, network connections, and operating teams are ready together. Power and thermal design are not peripherals to compute. They define where and when a fleet can actually run.
How control is built
Companies create progress by coordinating site selection, utilities, long-lead equipment, cooling design, hardware architecture, and local partners early. A cloud contract, a construction obligation, and a chip purchase each illuminate a different part of that build, and should remain distinct.
What to watch
Focus on deliverable power, connection dates, cooling strategy, construction readiness, and the matching of deployed hardware to each site. Capacity is meaningful only when it is energized, cooled, connected, and usable.
